Laura and Christian’s wedding at Pinglestone Farm, June 2025

Laura and Christian are the kind of couple who make a documentary photographer very happy. Young, relaxed, bohemian in the best sense - a pair who wore the day lightly and let it unfold around them with an easy, unforced energy. June light, warm faces, a sense that everyone there was exactly where they wanted to be. I came away from this one feeling genuinely lifted.

Nestled in the serene Hampshire countryside near Alresford - a picturesque Georgian market town with scenic riverside walks and independent shops just ten minutes away - Pinglestone Farm is one of the county's most quietly special wedding venues. The barn sits within the Louis Pommery Vineyard, renowned for crafting exceptional English sparkling wine, with the River Arle - a celebrated Hampshire chalk stream - running alongside, its famous watercress beds creating a uniquely lush, pastoral backdrop.

A genuinely blank canvas space hosting up to 150 guests, Pinglestone only takes a limited number of weddings each year, which gives it a rare sense of exclusivity and intimacy. For a documentary photographer, the combination of open countryside, soft riverside light and a beautiful working farm means the variety of natural settings is exceptional - and in June, with everything in full bloom, it's as good as Hampshire gets.

What follows is a selection of images, from preparation through to the evening celebrations. If you're considering Pinglestone Farm as your venue and want to see what a full day of documentary wedding photography really looks like - well beyond a handful of Instagram highlights - I hope this gives you a genuine feel for both the place and my approach.
